Joanna (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor and certified alcohol  and drug counselor who sees clients ages 18 and up from our Cedar Falls office. She has experience working with clients dealing with a wide range of concerns  including relationship problems, self-esteem concerns, substance use  disorders, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. She is  able to provide a comfortable atmosphere free from judgment that  encourages self-discovery. Joanna's therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Existential, Humanistic, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Person-Centered  approaches. 


Joanna values the relationship she establishes with her clients and strives  to provide a warm and genuine therapeutic experience. Joanna provides  mental health treatment from an existential perspective, focusing on creating meaning in the lives of her clients. She believes each client has within them the tools they need to heal, and focuses on their innate  strengths. She uses a down-to-earth approach, genuine compassion and  humor in order to make therapy a rewarding process.
