Biography
Laura Cain-Shreiner (she/her, they/them) is a mental health counselor out of our Coralville office who specializes in depression, anxiety, gender and sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, life transitions, work and academic stress, crisis intervention, and relationship issues. Laura has worked with individuals ranging in age from 15 years of age into adulthood. Laura uses counseling approaches designed specifically to the needs of the client but can include person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal psychotherapy.
Laura uses empathy and understanding to build a strong working relationship with her clients. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and strives to continually educate herself on cultural identities of those who may find themselves outside of normative cultural standards.
