Mindy (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor who sees clients from our Waterloo office and who has experience working with individuals, couples and families facing a wide range of challenges. She has the ability to form strong relationships with clients quickly by providing a safe and comforting environment that allows and supports her clients to be their unique selves. Additionally, Mindy is an LGBTQ affirming provider, practices radical body positivity, and is not shy concerning issues relating to sex or non-traditional relationship configurations. She has also assisted clients who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault.
Mindy provides mental health treatment to adolescents and adults from a wellness and growth-potential perspective. Some of the therapeutic approaches she utilizes includes trauma-informed care, feminist theory, relational-cultural therapy, existential therapy, as well as play and art therapies. She uses treatment modalities based upon the personality and experiences of each individual client and believes a personal approach catered to the client is most likely to have lasting, positive effects.
