Alyssa (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Clinical Director based out of our Waterloo office, who is passionate about working with individuals 13 and older and couples to explore difficult themes that may be impeding growth. Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, Alyssa focuses on providing a safe, comfortable space with an emphasis on supportive psychotherapy, including mindfulness, shame management, and self-kindness/compassion. She believes it is essential to choose a therapist who will listen, empathize, work collaboratively, respect your needs, and meet you where you are. Her therapeutic approach is transparent, practical, genuine, empathetic, and warm.

The modalities Alyssa utilizes in session are tailored toward each client and the presenting concern of each session to include aspects of Strengths-Based Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Alyssa aims to work collaboratively to create more of the life you want for yourself. She is there to offer a safe space to be open and honest without fear of judgment. Working together, growth and personal empowerment can happen.
