Our Excellence Initiative

About Our Excellence Initiative

We believe that counseling can help people achieve their full potential by encouraging our clients to use their life struggles to create strength, growth, and resilience. We are committed to our mission of delivering excellent client care in order to ensure that our clients meet their goals. To that end, we are passionate clinician-scholars who invest in our craft and continually pursue opportunities for professional growth and development.

Our Excellence Initiative is dedicated to ensuring that we are regularly reflecting upon and refining the care we provide to ensure our clients have strong outcomes. To that end, we regularly evaluate our quality indices, build upon our areas of strength, and refine areas which need improvement.

We strive to ensure that we reach the highest indicators of good clinical care which means we aim to achieve the indices below:

  • We strive to ensure that greater than 85% of our clients complete their entire course of treatment.  Early treatment termination is associated with poor client outcomes; we want to avoid this whenever possible.

  • We monitor weekly session attendance to ensure that our clients are prioritizing their own treatment processes.  We reach out to clients who are struggling to attend therapy regularly in order to have an open conversation about barriers which may be interfering with treatment.

  • We have open discussions with our clients regarding the degree to which our services are helping them to achieve their therapeutic goals.  We provide appropriate referrals if our services are not optimal for a given client.

  • We evaluate our strengths and weaknesses as providers and as a practice via biannual client satisfaction surveys where we strive for a performance of 4.5 or above on a 5.0 scale on all assessed items.

  • We aim to offer same day or same week appointments for all clients who contact the practice for our services.  Behavioral healthcare is a serious need that cannot be delayed for weeks or months by an overtaxed healthcare system.

  • We invest in recruiting and retaining high quality providers by investing in provider compensation packages which are above marker indicators.

  • We invest to the highest level in ongoing provider training to ensure that our providers are skilled in the latest empirically supported techniques and interventions.

  • We contribute to new and emerging research with an active research initiative where we produce original research to elevate the science of our respective fields.

  • We evaluate our strengths and weaknesses as providers and as a practice via quarterly evaluations which require us to reflect thoughtfully upon our strengths and our areas for growth.  We set quarterly goals for practice and provider performance to enhance our services.

  • We have a democratic-participative leadership model where we regularly solicit and incorporate feedback from clients, providers, and staff to be sure that we are responsive to the needs of our stakeholders and are incorporating their feedback to ensure excellence.

  • We are consistently onboarding new providers to ensure adequate access to mental health services for the people that we serve.

  • We invest in our communities via partnerships with local non-profit entities and organizations to support their causes via donations, hosting resource drives, and volunteering our professional services.
