Brianna Johnson (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides telehealth therapy to clients in the Ames area. She specializes in working with children (ages 14+), adolescents, and young adults—meeting them exactly where they are and helping them move toward where they want to be. Brianna is proud to offer an LGBTQ+ affirming and inclusive space where all identities are respected and supported. Brianna is especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, trauma, and life transitions. She understands how overwhelming these experiences can feel and creates a space where clients don’t have to face them alone. Her background includes helping survivors of sexual assault and trauma find healing and reclaim their sense of self. Whether it’s working through peer conflict, exploring identity, processing difficult past experiences, or adjusting to major life changes, Brianna walks alongside her clients with compassion and intention.

Brianna’s approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. She draws from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Strengths-based techniques. More than anything, she believes therapy should feel like a safe and supportive partnership. Clients working with Brianna can expect a warm, nonjudgmental, and affirming environment where they are encouraged to be their authentic selves, build resilience, and develop practical tools to reach their goals.
