Biography

Hi, I’m glad you’re here! My name is Brieanna (she/her/hers). I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who believes that therapy should not only a be safe space to learn coping skills for life’s challenges, but also a place where you can feel heard, understood, and open and honest. I place a strong value on approaching others with openness and without judgment, as I believe that the things we feel shame about can play a significant role in the mental health concerns we experience. With that in mind, my approach to therapy centers on building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship and creating an environment where you can explore the thoughts and experiences that may contribute to negative self-image and self-talk. Together, we can work toward developing greater self-understanding while building skills that support more positive and compassionate ways of thinking.

My past clinical experience includes treatment programming, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and acute inpatient psychiatric care. This experience has allowed me to work with a broad range of mental health concerns and experiences, meeting my clients exactly where they are in the moment. Through my education and experience, I have employed concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing through a person-centered, trauma-informed lens. You can expect sessions with me to feel down-to-earth, comfortable, and free from judgment. No matter what’s bringing you in, I want you to feel that you can bring the things you may be hesitant to say out loud: the difficult, uncomfortable, and messy parts, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. I know starting therapy can feel quite intimidating; my hope for our work together is that you come out feeling seen, heard, and understood. You can tell me the uncomfortable stuff. I won't judge you. We'll figure out what's underneath it, and I'll help you develop the skills to handle it.
