Brooke (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based out of the Coralville office. Brooke has dedicated her professional career to providing person-centered care to adults facing a variety of concerns including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, grief and bereavement, chronic illness, and family and relationship conflicts. Brooke prioritizes being an inclusive clinician who welcomes adults across the lifespan and amongst all backgrounds. Brooke aims to offer a safe space for those in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. Brooke’s therapeutic style incorporates kindness, curiosity, collaboration, humor and authenticity. Brooke emphasizes exploration and integration of clients’ values, helping clients align their thoughts and actions with these in their daily routines and interactions. Brooke entered the field of mental health to help others grow, move towards healing and find meaning in their lives.

Brooke uses an evidenced-based, integrative therapeutic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Brooke uses a systems approach to her work with clients, helping them identify resources within themselves, their communities, and society. Brooke has spent time studying abroad in South America focusing on building cultural humility and gaining a more global perspective which she applies to her clinical practice. Brooke has lived in Illinois, Iowa, and Arizona, these experiences have allowed her to observe diversity in many contexts and helps her to find connection with her clients and their lived experiences. Prior to joining the practice Brooke worked as a Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker supporting patients with terminal illness and providing grief counseling and education to their families and caregivers. Brooke is passionate about helping others embrace the grief process, identifying tools to live a meaningful life after loss. Brooke spent time working in the assisted living and nursing home setting, adding to her knowledge related to working with older adults and their caregivers. Brooke also has experience working in residential care as a Residential Counselor for at-risk youth, utilizing these experiences to inform her work with clients around relationship and family conflict.
