Clinical Specialties

Daniel (he/him) is a licensed social worker based in our Iowa City office. He is passionate about supporting adults and adolescents experiencing depression, grief, isolation, anxiety, trauma, and difficulties related to ADHD. Daniel has experience working with people throughout the lifespan as they navigate suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and crisis situations. He believes that strong collaboration is essential to making change, and he brings a variety of therapeutic approaches to his work in order to meet the individual needs of each client. Daniel’s practice draws on theories from trauma and resilience, family systems, acceptance and commitment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and attachment theory, among others.

Daniel has worked in community crisis response, connecting people to resources and helping them stay safe at home. He also has experience with community mental health where he provided individual therapy with a special emphasis on addressing experiences related to trauma, racism, and gender identity.

Daniel’s approach to therapy includes helping clients identify their strengths, develop new skills, and pursue valued action. He believes in the importance of accepting our emotions, connecting with others, and building community. Daniel incorporates bodily awareness and mindfulness techniques into treatment. He works with clients from age 12 through adulthood.
