Biography

Emma (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor based in Iowa City, offering both in-person and virtual therapy services. Emma works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and self-esteem challenges. She has a particular interest in supporting young adults as they navigate periods of transition, identity exploration, career uncertainty, and/or relational concerns.

Emma believes that therapy is about more than reducing symptoms—it's about helping people better understand themselves and build lives that feel more authentic, connected, and meaningful. She strives to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, where clients feel supported as they navigate life's challenges and discover new possibilities for growth. Her therapeutic style is person-centered and integrative, drawing from multicultural, feminist, internal family systems (IFS), and cognitive behavioral approaches to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
