Biography
Erin (she/her/hers) is a licensed social worker in our Iowa City office. Erin specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, with a strong emphasis on fostering trusting therapeutic relationships. She utilizes a person-centered approach and values meeting clients where they are to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for children, teens, and young adults to fully express themselves. Erin uses techniques from Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
Erin gained clinical experience at the Abbe Center for Community Mental Health, specializing in working with adolescents, with an emphasis on parent collaboration. Erin is certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and has experience working with individuals who self-harm or have suicidal ideation. Her approach focuses on helping clients build emotional regulation, insight, and self-esteem so that they may improve their overall well-being and achieve their full potential.
