Heidi (she/her) is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Grand View University completing her internship under supervision at Green Counseling Service. Before entering the counseling field, she spent more than 25 years working in education, leadership, and community-based program development across Iowa. Her professional background has given her deep experience supporting people through periods of transition, stress, caregiving, burnout, grief, and personal reinvention. Heidi believes therapy should feel both grounding and deeply human. Her approach is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and reflective, while also helping clients move toward meaningful change in their everyday lives. She is especially drawn to working with adults navigating anxiety, relationship patterns, self-worth, perfectionism, life transitions, empty nest experiences, career and identity shifts, and questions surrounding meaning, purpose, and authenticity in the second half of life. Her developing counseling style integrates existential and person-centered perspectives with practical cognitive and mindfulness-based strategies. Heidi is particularly interested in helping clients reconnect with themselves after years of prioritizing work, caregiving, achievement, or the expectations of others.
