Isabella (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides therapy to clients in the Ames area. She works with adults and couples experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, autism, attachment issues, sexual challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions. Isabella’s approach to therapy is warm, inviting, and non-judgemental. She prioritizes building a secure connection with her clients in order to create a space where they can speak openly, share honestly, and express themselves freely. Isabella views the client as the expert of their own experience and believes it is the combination of the client’s knowledge and therapist’s knowledge that creates an environment for exploration, growth, and healing.

Isabella is especially passionate about working with individuals healing from trauma related to sexual violence, intimate partner violence, or harmful religious experiences. She strives to support sexual assault survivors as they heal from their traumatic experiences, then help clients explore how to engage in physical intimacy in ways that feel safe, secure, and enjoyable. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community herself, Isabella also enjoys working with other queer individuals. She recognizes the importance of having a space that feels genuinely safe and affirming, and hopes to be one such place for her clients. 

Prior to working as a clinical social worker, Isabella worked as an academic advisor at Iowa State University. She both supports her clients in therapy sessions and connects clients to resources on and off campus. Isabella’s knowledge of the university system can be beneficial for students navigating challenges related to attending college. Isabella has experience utilizing trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused modalities with clients. She views herself as a lifelong learner, and is often learning new skills and techniques she can utilize to support her clients.
