Clinical Specialties

Kelsey (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor at our Iowa City location working with a client population experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. Kelsey is passionate about working with children and adolescents. She has experience working with a diverse children and adolescents population dealing with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexual orientation, gender identify, and trauma. Kelsey is passionate about working with clients who are/have experienced trauma, especially grief. She will help clients overcome challenging situations and build on self-awareness and resilience skills. 

Kelsey specializes in working with children and adolescents, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining a trusting therapeutic relationship. She incorporates play therapy techniques to offer a natural and developmentally appropriate way for clients to express themselves. In addition, Kelsey draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation, build confidence, and help clients navigate life’s challenges.
