Lana (she/her) is a licensed master social worker based in the Coralville office, providing therapy to adults and older teens (16+). Her approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, holistic, and person-centered. Lana brings authenticity, compassion, curiosity, creativity, and a deep value for connection into her work—connection with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.

Lana believes that every person is the expert on their own life. Rather than approaching therapy as someone who has all the answers, she works alongside clients to better understand themselves, recognize patterns, build practical skills, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful. Her style is warm, conversational, and down-to-earth, balancing compassion and support with direct feedback, honest conversations, and thoughtful challenge.

Lana draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy, adapting her approach to each client's needs and goals. Therapy with Lana may include traditional conversation as well as creative or experiential activities, reflection, skill-building, and opportunities to try something different in the room. With years of experience in nature-based therapeutic settings, she also values the role that nature, movement, play, and creativity can have in supporting mental health and personal growth.

Lana especially enjoys working with people navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, loneliness, relationships, identity, life transitions, grief, emotional regulation, and the stress of work, school, or simply figuring out what they want their life to look like. She has experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances and strives to create a space where clients can show up as themselves without needing to have everything figured out.

Lana approaches her own life with the same curiosity and openness to growth that she encourages in therapy. She values meaningful relationships, community, mindfulness, creativity, and continuing to learn about herself and the world around her. She believes therapy can offer space to do the same—to understand yourself more deeply, experiment with new ways of living, and intentionally shape a life that feels like your own.
