Leah (she/her/hers) is a mental health professional based in our Iowa City office who specializes in ADHD, Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Life Transitions, Crisis Intervention and Suicidal Ideation, Parental Support around mental health disorders and neurodivergence, and Sex and Intimacy Issues. Leah welcomes clients ranging from 13 years of age into adulthood and is a neurodivergent-affirming therapist.

Leah has clinical experience with individuals and families, as well as extensive crisis intervention experience with individuals, couples, and families. Her professional background is in suicide intervention and prevention and provision of mental health support for teens and young adults; and, Leah is a certified Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Trainer. She is committed to creating safe, developed relationships with her clients. She believes that mental health therapy is most successful when clients feel comfortable being exactly who they are and is meant to support each individual journey by identifying and building on a person’s existing strengths.

Leah’s therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and sincere appreciation for each individual. She is client focused in terms of identifying an appropriate therapeutic lens and uses family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy
