Maggie Morris (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor based in our Coralville office who specializes in anxiety, depression, work and academic stress, gender and sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, family and relationship issues, and life transitions. During her educational experiences in Minnesota, Maggie served as a counseling intern with Family Service Rochester and Winona State University Counseling Services where she worked with diverse populations including single mothers, LGBTQ+ individuals, adolescents, older adults, university students, and more. In her work with these groups, Maggie witnessed firsthand the resilience of clients in all manner of environments and situations. As a result, she has developed a passionate belief in the human ability to adapt, grow, and rise to overcome whatever obstacles stand in the way of living happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Maggie offers a person-centered counseling approach centering on client strengths, while also using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to help clients meet their goals. Family systems and feminist theories also drive Maggie’s work as a counselor, as they aid in understanding how each person functions in family and societal contexts. No matter a client’s unique situation or background, Maggie strives to provide a nonjudgmental, supportive, and affirming counseling environment where clients can feel safe to explore, make mistakes, heal, and grow. Ultimately, Maggie aims to help clients uncover their own strengths, walking alongside them as they take steps toward self-discovery and change.
