Biography
Mya (she/her/hers) is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and experiences of loss. She strives to create a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Her role in therapy is to walk alongside clients as they navigate their unique challenges, providing support, insight, and practical tools to help them move toward their goals.
Mya is interested in working with young adults through older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment-related concerns, grief and bereavement, and significant life transitions. She has a particular interest in grief work and supporting clients through the many forms of loss and change that can occur throughout life. She is also particularly interested in working with older adults and supporting individuals as they navigate the unique transitions and challenges of aging.
Her clinical interests include integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She hopes to help clients develop practical coping skills, better understand themselves and their experiences, recognize their strengths, and build tools that can support meaningful and lasting change.
