Nicole (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing in-person and telehealth services in our Waterloo office for children over the age of 5, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. Nicole utilizes and is informed by various therapeutic approaches including person-centered, strength-based, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She continues to strive toward increasing her knowledge and use of additional evidence-based therapeutic approaches to inform her practice and provide clients with the skills they need to reach their full potential.

Nicole has spent more than 20 years within the public and private education system as a Special Educator and continues to work with young adults at the college level seeking a career in education. Her extensive experience working with children and adolescents struggling with various emotional and behavioral disorders including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders has provided her with insight into these difficulties for clients and their families as they navigate the education system at the primary, secondary, and college level. She takes a collaborative approach and enjoys working with young people and their families to assist them with developing effective and positive coping strategies and emotional management techniques that will help them to achieve their goals.

No matter what brings a client to therapy, Nicole is passionate about creating a safe, collaborative, and validating space that empowers clients to develop a positive sense of self and allows them to develop effective strategies to take control of their mental health, increase a sense of well-being, and create a life worth living.
