Clinical Specialties

Parth (he/him) is a mental health counselor based in our Iowa City office. He’s had enriching experiences serving youth and adults experiencing a variety of mental health conditions at non-profit, K-12 school, and outpatient settings.  Most recently, Parth held the role of Youth Mobile Crisis Program Coordinator at CommUnity Crisis Services.  Parth has special interest working with adolescents and emerging adults seeking out treatment for trauma.  He also has an interest in supporting student athletes, LGBTQ+ community, and individuals living with perfectionism/high achieving traits.  Outside of Green, you can find Parth recharging by playing tennis, seeing a new film, cycling, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends.  

Parth believes that every individual is capable of growth and making meaningful change, especially when they are facing life’s challenges.  Parth is inspired by each client he meets, and honored to support them on their path of self-discovery and wellness.  He views therapy as a collaborative process, and encourages clients to observe themselves with compassion and curiosity.  Values that inform Parth’s therapeutic approach include empowerment, autonomy, and authenticity.  His goal is to help clients understand themselves more fully, so they can make value based decisions and live more fulfilling lives.  

Parth considers himself a generalist and draws from a broad array of theoretical orientations and perspectives including: psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), multicultural counseling, and person-centered therapy.  Parth enjoys incorporating mindfulness, wellness assessments, and psychoeducation into treatment when appropriate.  Parth sees clients 13+throughout the life span.
